Rob & Kristen 'Breaking Dawn' Journey Detailed

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have their work cut out for them in the upcoming “Breaking Dawn,” Part I and Part II. They have a lot of ground to cover, including Bella’s supernatural rebirth as a vampire.

The task of making “Breaking Dawn” a coherent narrative falls largely to producer Wyck Godfrey.

He spoke recently to USAToday and sketched out a road map that will take Edward and Bella from wedding and childbirth to Bella’s biting transformation and the final vampire confrontation.

Bella’s narrates the beginning and the end of the book, and Lautner’s Jacob Black narrates the middle of the book.

“The story will break from her and follow Jacob throughout the course of the movie as he struggles with his own dilemma,” Godfrey told the newspaper.

“There is a sense that as Bella and the Cullens deal with her pregnancy, the world is still turning outside with Jacob.”

Bella’s narrative will cover the first part of the book through the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth, he says.

“We basically want to take the audience through the emotional part of Bella’s journey as she becomes a vampire,” in the second movie, he added.

Despite the graphic nature of the book, Godfrey assured that the movie will have no problem adhering to a PG-13 rating, which is critical to make the movie available to hard-core Twi fans.

Godfrey plans to handle Bella’s bloody, rib-breaking birth scene through her eyes. What it shows will be obscured by a haze, as if viewers were seeing it through dazed Bella’s eyes.

“She is looking through the haze, experiencing pain and everything rushing around her. We only see what she sees,” he said.

The second film will be more action-oriented like Eclipse. More than 70 vampires from around the world gather to face off with the Cullens and their allies plus Jacob’s wolf pack.
