Pretty soon the movie franchise that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart owe all their success and fame to will be over.
Will Rob and Kristen find success after Breaking Dawn and Twilight?
Who is more likely to become the true Hollywood star?
Without the Twilight franchise there is a good chance that most of us would have never have heard of Robert Pattinson or Kristen Stewart. Edward and Bella have become cultural icons among a large number of youths. Twilight is to them as Star Wars was to youth in the 70's. Unfortunately for the cast of Star Wars, only one actor went on to have any real success after the films and that was Harrison Ford.
Could the same thing happen to the cast of Twilight? Who from the cast has the best chance to go on and become a star outside of Twilight?
Robert Pattinson seems to have the best chance. Water for Elephants, which is due out in April, has the potential to be a massive success. After WFE, Pattinson will begin work on Cosmopolis, which is a type of role that he has never played before. If he is able to have success with both films, the sky is the limit for him.
Kristen Stewart may have a tougher road ahead of her than Pattinson. Her last film, Welcome to the Rileys, was a critical and box office failure. Her acting skills don't seem to be on par with Pattinson's, which will obviously hold her back. Landing the role of Snow White will help her but not as much as you might think. The movie is basically another fantasy film. Stewart needs to land a serious role in a serious movie shortly after Breaking Dawn in order to keep her stock up among movie executives.
Taylor Lautner is an interesting proposition. He has the looks, the skills and the body to be a very successful action star. I could see him turning into a Matt Damon type along the lines of the Bourne Identity or perhaps even becoming another Bruce Willis.
Robert Pattinson is obviously the odds on favorite to have the most success after Breaking Dawn and Twilight are over. But, don't count out Taylor Lautner quite so fast.
