'Twilight' Stars Start Arriving In Vancouver

Vancouversun: Twi-hards giddy for sightings of heartthrobs Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner

VANCOUVER — Vampire fans, sharpen your fangs: the Twilight stars have begun arriving in Vancouver.

Twilight mania is upon us once more, setting paparazzi, Twi-hards and Hollywood North crew into a blood-fuelled tizzy. Pre-production began in early February, and filming is expected to begin this week.

According to reports, Twilight actors MyAnna Buring, Mia Maestro and MacKenzie Foy arrived at Vancouver airport early Sunday evening.

And yet, a cloak of silence keeps fans of heartthrobs Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in the dark. Will they sneak into Vancouver on a late-night flight, ushered quietly through a back door and into a waiting limousine? Or will they arrive early Monday or Tuesday morning, while their fanatical school-age fans head off to class?

Rumours abound about their pending arrival, putting tweeters and internet bloggers on high alert, whirling with speculation.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn, the latest instalment in the Stephenie Meyer series, has wrapped up filming in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is in the midst of transplanting cast to Hollywood North.

Filming will take place in British Columbia until April. Bella Swan's (played by Stewart) house has returned to Kerry Park in Surrey, where filming of previous Twilight films took place. The white, wooden-framed structure has been decorated with Christmas decorations and is ready for action, although it's unknown when the cast will come calling.

Another location -- Jacob Black's (Lautner) red, ramshackle house in Port Coquitlam -- has also been prepped for filming.

Indoor scenes will be shot at a yet-unknown Metro Vancouver production studio.

A recent report on Hollywoodlife.com blabbed that the cast will film in the city of Vancouver on one day only: March 14, at an unnamed theatre for part of the day, and then on Beatty Street in the downtown Eastside. The site credits the Directors Guild of Canada for saying Breaking Dawn will shoot from Feb. 21 to April 13 in British Columbia.

If you spot a film crew on a Vancouver street, don't get too excited straight away. A number of productions are underway, including TV series Fringe, Supernatural, The Killing, Smallville and Hellcats. As for the blockbusters, Mission Impossible: 4 will be here until March 7, at which time the ball gets rolling for Underworld 4, starring Kate Beckinsale. Superman will also be soaring into town in the coming months.
