Marcus Foster Talks About 'Let Me Sign' In New Interview
'Let Me Sign' brought you to a lot of people's attention through the Twilight soundtrack. Were you happy with how Robert Pattinson performed it?
It’s really great. Originally that song was a bit of a joke, it was a clapping song that me and my friend wrote together and he turned it into this really serious, moody song. So it was quite funny. But it was great, we worked it out together and I really like it.

'Harry Potter', 'The Vampire Diaries' And 'Twilight' Too Similar?
JSYK: In pop culture today, everyone has heard of the seemingly amazing series, Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. First being published in 2005, her vampire series has revived the era of vampires and given fresh blood (no pun intended) to the world of fantasy literature. Or has it?
Though Twilight has captured the hearts of even the most unromantic teenage girls, this piece of supposed literature is underdeveloped and hypocritical at best. Though Meyer’s Mormon beliefs can be felt subtly in all four of the books, most teenagers and their parents have not stopped to consider that though it can send great messages, Twilight also promotes finding a “perfect” and deadly man, as well as teenage marriage.
Many people today have called Stephenie Meyer the new J.K. Rowling, paving the way for a new generation of fantasy readers. But, is this acclaim for Meyer fair? Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series for seventeen years, winning numerous awards for her creativity and innovation. She wove together a new world that has enchanted children and adults alike to read more, while showing them life lessons and morals. Meyer, on the other hand, has only been innovative in the location of her vampires. Her world exists in the real world, and her conflict of vampires versus vampires, vampires versus werewolves, and vampires loving humans is not new. Even Robert Pattinson, the beloved Edward in the Twilight movies, was borrowed from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the movie that escalated his acting career and without which he would not be in Twilight today. In fact, many of the “creative” things Meyer has expressed in her books resonate almost exactly in The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith, written about fifteen years before Twilight.
Critics today speak of the new television show, The Vampire Diaries, as if it has stolen the thunder from the popular Twilight. But has it really? The Vampire Diaries is based off of a series by the same name, which tells the story of vampire Stefan Salvatore, his “evil” brother, and the love of Stefan’s life, Elena. While many argue that the fact that the conflict is between two brother vampires, not a vampire and werewolf, the same ideas appear in both Twilight and Vampire Diaries. The human girl fascinated by the mysterious vampire. The vampire who’s lust for her love and lust for her blood causes more complications than at first glance. The other man who tries everything in his power to win the girl’s heart. The similarities between the series are above coincidence.
Some religious groups today banish Harry Potter for its witchcraft and The Vampire Diaries for its evilness. Many teenagers even flock to Twilight for solace. However, this belief that both series are evil is not just wrong, it is hypocritical. Harry Potter tells of the battle between good and evil, in which good triumphs in the end. This same struggle is apparent in The Chronicles of Narnia, which even includes magic, but Narnia is still found in Christian bookstores. If those who ban Harry Potter were to read the series, they may be surprised at its good morals and messages, as well as its indirect link between the struggles in the Bible between Jesus and the Romans and the struggles in the series between Harry and Lord Voldemort. As for The Vampire Diaries, the same struggle of good versus evil leads to the triumph of good. Other questionable content in both series is nonexistent. Not so in Twilight.
In New Moon, Bella tries her hand at extreme sports, risking suicide just to hear Edward’s voice. In later chapters, Edward attempts suicide several times in a special, vampire way, all because he believes Bella died. In Eclipse, Bella tries everything in her power to convince Edward to have sex with her, the only thing her mind focuses on. Edward only refuses to do so because he could hurt her. Instead, his bargain is for her to marry him, something Bella refuses to do or even consider. She only agrees when her becoming a vampire becomes part of the wager. In Breaking Dawn, Bella marries Edward at nineteen, and then becomes pregnant weeks later. This promotes not only teenage marriage, but teenage pregnancy. So much for Twilight being Christian and well-written.

'Red Riding Hood' Shows The Desperation To Find A Rival To 'Twilight'
The studios seem desperate in trying to find the new "Twilight" (Twilight), and this is the first implication that we should take a couple of recent premieres.
On the one hand tried to create with "I am Number Four" (I am the Number Four) the same energy catalyzed by adolescent first loves, against a backdrop of a very supernatural action and aliens living among us and fighting among themselves. The result was disastrous and it's unlikely the movie will have a sequel, although there are plenty of books (which inspired) for that.
Since "Red Riding Hood" had the gift of gathering further evidence that they could triumph. On a side bet on the same chemistry "Twilight", where a love triangle back to get the attention of Catherine Hardwicke. In addition, the film follows, or even starts, the new trend in Hollywood, which is to adapt classic tales in different versions than usual.New productions of Snow White, Hansel and Gretel and Peter Pan are a good example that the studios follow standards.
With these two elements as in fashion, and a filmmaker who has already triumphed in one of them, after all it was she who initiated the path of Twilight in the halls, we would expect that this "Red Riding Hood" (The Girl in the Red Hood) had success. But no. The film has been a failure to criticize, but worse than that, and when it comes to the studio, this work has not proved able to exorcise the ghost of the film that will succeed the goose that lays the golden eggs that are the trio Bella Edward Cullen Vs Swan Jacob Vs.
There are a number of problems in this contemporary adaptation, and not even worth it to hit the key the film was set in a medieval era, though the ways and words of the actors are too modern. The big problem of "Red Riding Hood" is not one, but the fact that the concept is a reimagining so little bold and just follow the path of the obvious and cliché, but is particularly frustrating when the 30-minute film, and if they have to attention, since they know who the werewolf that plaguing the village. It seems that more than a movie, this is a formula, where the ingredients fail across the board.
Failed in tension and mystery, where the provision of the actors does not help, it remains to consider the film as a cheesy affair with more questions between a woman and two men, where there are many family pressures, because after all she was already betrothed to a them. Here too there is nothing new, noting some flaws in the casting, especially on the male side, and behavioral cliché of applicants.
By the middle of the story still appears Gary Oldman, the only breath of fresh air in the movie and did not need to use half of their dramatic skills to overcome the mediocrity of general interpretations. Save this debacle is also (partly) Amanda Seyfried, who despite being away from other jobs, meets the minimum is not shocking to his performance.
A footnote to what I liked. The photograph. But here the film has the value of it, although the later mount did not prove as competent as it should be. But if there's blame it all and they are the scriptwriter and director, Hardwicke continued to disappoint the expectations that had launched with "Thirteen" and continued with "Lords of Dogtown."

The Real Reason Shiloh Fernandez Didn't Land 'Twilight'
"It didn't work because I wasn't right for the part," Fernandez tells NextMovie. "I read a quote recently that I supposedly said about Kristen… it was horrible. What I was really saying was it was me — I was the one who was nervous and awkward. She already had the role of Bella.
"I really wanted that part because I like the book and I think it's a fantastic role, but we really didn't mesh up. I'm sure Kristen would agree — I've never seen her besides that one day."

Catherine Hardwicke Talks About The TwiAudition With Access Hollywood
And more R/K 'chemistry' mentions from Catherine and Amanda Seyfried
Catherine: "I tried to cast Shiloh in ‘Thirteen,’ but it didn’t work out. And then he was one of my top four candidates to play Edward in ‘Twilight.’ I thought he was pretty great, but in that case I already had Kristen Stewart as my leading lady, and we based the casting of Edward on ‘chemistry’ readings. The actors did some scenes with Kristen, and it was pretty clear that she worked best with Rob Pattinson.”
Amanda: "When she sees two people connect, she becomes your biggest fan she wants to take that and make that into something beautiful," Seyfried says. "I think she saw that with Rob (Pattinson) and Kristen (Stewart) and she has been very vocal about that. When she first saw Shiloh (Fernandez) and me do our chemistry read, she saw something and I saw something."

Joshua Horowitz Updates On 'Twilight' Surprise
Previous Tweet : "Last thing I'll say before the announcement comes: while there is a Twilight connection. It's NOT a Twilight thing. Not a set visit, etc. Believe me: wish we could go on set but alas it's not up to us. That being said I'm confident you guys will love this event. All 4 now..."
Catherine Hardwicke Wants 'Pattinson, Stewart Reunion' And Reaction
Digitalspy: Catherine Hardwicke has revealed that she considers Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to be "close to [her] heart".
E Online reports that the Twilight director developed a bond with the rumoured couple while on the set of the first film in the vampire franchise in 2008.
"I think they're wonderful; they're super close to my heart," Hardwicke said.
"I'd love to [work with them again], if the right project comes up at the right time, that would be awesome."
She added that she was the first to spot the chemistry between Pattinson and Stewart, explaining: "I was exactly right there when they first met, so I saw it all from the beginning.
"I saw that they both had that wonderful fascination with each other, and that's why I cast Rob [n Twilight]."
Shannon Marx at Metrowny disagree: "Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's first Twilight director, Catherine Hardwicke, says that she would love to have a reunion with Rob and Kristen, and direct them together in a future film. That couldn't be any worse of an idea.
Pattinson and Stewart are great together. Twilight has brought them fame and fortune and launched their careers to heights that they may not ever have known without it. Hardwicke had the keen eye to cast both of them together when she saw that they had great chemistry.
Also, besides having great on screen chemistry, they also have fallen in love, which has added to public's interest in them. But, after Breaking Dawn Part 2, they should never appear in another movie together again. Four movies together is quite enough, especially considering they are a couple. Have you ever worked with your significant other? The stress can be unbelievable not to mention that everyone needs some quality alone time. Couples that work too long together have a much higher failure rate than couples that don't.
The other issue is that Pattinson and Stewart need to separate their careers and have success on their own. Both have made movies without the other, but none of them have been as successful as Twilight. Doing a reunion with Catherine Hardwicke any time in the near future would be a huge mistake. Perhaps 20 years from now, and that's a big maybe."

Top 10 Most Iconic Movie Kisses

InStyle.com: Is there anything as romantic as a classic big screen kiss? Even today -- when most Hollywood movies don't exactly fade to black after the lovers lock lips -- the best kisses still have the power to send shivers down the spine. In honor of Valentine's Day, InStyle chose the most memorable cinematic embraces: upside down, on a boat, and in the pouring rain.
"Twilight"
Even the most diehard members of Team Jacob can't deny the romantic power of Bella and Edward's first kiss. Kristen Stewart -- who's almost uniformly closemouthed about her off-screen relationship with costar Robert Pattinson -- did offer "I get to kiss Edward Cullen," when asked to name a few of her favorite things about the gig.
The Story Behind 'Bella's Lullaby'
Composer Carter Burwell has a wonderful section on his website where he tells the whole story behind “Bella’s Lullaby”, the song he wrote for Twilight back in 2008. He also talks about Rob being chosen to play the piece in the film.
I came to Oregon to meet Catherine Hardwicke and see some of the film she was shooting, Twilight. She mentioned that the producing company, Summit Entertainment, had just requested that a new scene be added to the film. The scene existed in the novel but hadn’t originally been part of the screenplay (films are not one-to-one translations of books). In this scene Edward would play piano for Bella. I wasn’t officially working on the film at that point and they didn’t know what Rob Pattinson (Edward) should play during the shoot. This is not an unusual situation – many films have an actor sitting at a keyboard, swaying back and forth, pretending to play music that was only written after the film has been shot and edited. This case was unusual in that Rob is a fine musician, and fully capable of playing the piano or probably any other instrument.
He also discusses Summit’s desire to change his composition to fit the target audience.
The suggestion that teenage girls would want a sweet tune was somewhat condescending, and that was something I tried to avoid in this score. Also I don’t believe it’s possible to know how music will affect someone else, even though film composers claim to. The unpredicability is what makes it interesting (although I understand that’s not what the investors want to hear). And can you imagine what it would be like – as it was occasionally on this project – trying to compose music to satisfy a director who’s trying to satisfy a male executive who’s trying to satisfy ten million teenage girls?
