Peter Murphy: 'I Think Kristen Is Very Good. Shes Lovely, Too'

Q: Tell me about your appearance in "Eclipse." How did that come to pass?


"It was very short. I was very pleased. David Slade, the director, was brought in to give it some kind of edge. I wasn't too worried either way [if I appeared in the movie]. I did want to appear in it. He said he would like me to play a short cameo role, which to him was like a secret wink to those who know who I am and what I've done, and a bookend to "The Hunger," if you like. I loved it. I thought it was a very nice idea. I was thrilled to go on to the set in the mountains in Vancouver. It was amazing to be an actor for three days. I did hair, and a wig, and make up, and stunt training. The day of the shoot, I was with the young kids who are the stars of "Twilight.'' It was like, "Wow. Look at this." They had to hide me because it's such a humungous enterprise. It was a joy to be on the set. It really enforced the fact that I do have an urge to act. Up until now I felt that was a little pretentious of me, but I do feel that I can act. Talking to David and other people on the set, they encouraged me. I'm going to hopefully look in to other opportunities to act proper. The "Twilight" thing was very short, brief moment. I enjoyed the whole process."


Q: I have to admit, I love those movies. I think they're very clever.


"I do too. I think that young actress [Kristen Stewart] is very good. She's lovely, too."

MTV has just released the list of contenders to become nominees for the category at the 2011 ceremony, and Kristen has two chances to be nominated: both for her kisses with the male leads of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Kristen & Rob Win At 'Flecking Awards'!

And the award for Best Actress goes to… Kristen Stewart!


The Twilight actress bagged the Flecking Award, with strong competition from other nominees (including Oscar winners).


Others up for the award were Natalie Portman, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Ann Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Michelle Williams, Kate Hudson, Emma Watson, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Roberts and Mila Kunis.


Twilight Eclipse also picked up the Best Film award, as well as star Robert Pattinson picking up Sexiest Male, Sexiest Vampire and Most Stylish Male.

And the award for Best Film goes to… Twilight Eclipse!
There’s no denying that the Twilight franchise is huge, and so we’re not surprised that the third flick picked up the award for Best Film.

Bagging his third Flecking Award so far, 24-year-old Rob has now been named the Most Stylish Male.


There’s something very sexy about Mr Pattinson when he puts a suit on, but the girls also go crazy for his dressed down look too – obviously excluding the beard.


Other nominees were Zac Efron, Ian Somerhalder, Adam Lambert, Taylor Lautner, Ed Westwick, Ryan Reynolds, Jared Leto, Leonardo DiCaprio, Joe Jonas, Danny Jones and Robbie Williams. Tough competition.

So far, 24-year-old Rob has picked up the Sexiest Vampire award, well now he’s bagged another – this time for making a pretty sexy human too.


Competition for this award was seriously tough. And the award for Sexiest Vampire goes to… Robert Pattinson.

You guys have voted Robert Pattinson as the sexiest vampire. Rob picked up the award for his role as Edward Cullen in the Twilight flicks.
It’s the role that 24-year-old Rob is probably the most famous for. He isn’t the scariest looking vampire, but he does sparkle. Which we love.

This was achieved by sectioning the hair for total control, starting at the nape and working up using a medium-size round brush. 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse' Tops Worldwide Indie Box Office With $562.8 Million

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" was the top grossing independent film in 2010, according to the Independent Film & Television Alliance


The vampire romance with $562.8 million globally.


Leading the pack on the list of worldwide box office grosses for the top-50 Independent films of 2010 were movies that smacked more of the mainstream than the art house.


Video game adaptation "Resident Evil: Afterlife" and men on a mission action film "The Expendables" were second and third on the list, grossing $270.7 million and $228.4 million worldwide.


Rounding out the top ten were popcorn flicks such as "RED" ($160.6 million), "The Book of Eli" ($158.4 million) and "Dear John" ($112 million).


Japanese language film "The Borrower Arrietty" was the only foreign title in the top ten. The anime movie banked $114 million worldwide.


Thirty-seven English-language titles made the list overall. Of this year's current crop of Oscar contenders, only "The Fighter" cracked the top 50, coming in at number 30 with $51 million worldwide. Other awards leaders such as "The King's Speech" and "Black Swan" were still in limited release or had only recently premiered when the year ended.


Non-English language films comprised more than one-third of the total globally, according to IFTA. Films from Japan led the non-English titles with nine out of 13.


Japan’s three top earners collectively grossed nearly $300 million and all of them were among the top-20. French films secured two places on the Top-50 list, followed by Italy and Brazil with one each.

Kristen Stewart : From Bella to Mallory


Appart from the Twilight Saga, Kristen Stewart plays strong characters in The Runaways and in Welcome to The Riley. Both are opposite of the sweet Bella, her character Mallory is a young prostitute, played with co-star James Gandolfini(Sopranos).


When you were 12 you were in Panic room. Today with the Twilight phenomenon you keep playing different characters and it seems like you want to break the idea that people have of you...


I'm not really looking for this, it's just that I'm not Bella Swan! In 2004 I played a broken teenager who was raped, and I also had a role in Into The Wild, you see I've always played different roles, the fact that Twilight is a saga and that there are five movies give the impression that it's the only thing I do, but it's definitely not true ! Don't get me wrong I love playing Bella, it's just that I'm able to play many other characters & styles! (smile) You just need to watch Welcome To The Rileys to understand this. I'm playing a young prostitute who meets James Gandolfini's character Doug, a man who is upset by the lost of his daughter, and he offers her money just for being allowed to live with her, because she reminds him of his child.




How was the work with James Gandolfini?


It was awesome to work with an actor like him. This movie is very touching, James obvouisly took care of me very well while we were filming, he made things easier. It wasn't difficult to get throught our charcaters, it was very fluent! I've been s blessed to meet new people and live all these intense cinematographic adventures. I think that I've never been so happy! I'm aware that what's happening is particularly unique, maybe things won't be like that forever so I just live the moment!




What was the harder for you on the set?


I think that the hardest thing was the dance, I took some lessons during two weeks of pole dance for the movie, but it wasn't the most complicated, being infront of James in a scene of seduction that was weird emotionally because we've got a father/daughter relation on the set, luckily James knew how to make me feel at ease, he acted like a father actually, like his character. And director Jake Scott was great too, it was a pleasure to work with him.

'Twilight' Wins MTV's YA Love Triangle Poll

The votes are in, and it hardly comes as a surprise that “Twilight” trio Edward, Bella and Jacob won Hollywood Crush readers’ vote as their favorite YA novel love triangle. “Twilight” took a whopping 40 percent of the vote with “Vampire Diaries”‘ Stefan, Elena and Damon coming in second with 23 percent and “Mortal Instruments”‘ Jace, Clary and Simon coming in with 18 percent of the vote.


Millions of book readers and movie goers will agree that Stephenie Meyer couldn’t have created two more perfect suitors for the clumsily lovable Bella Swan. There’s Edward, the dazzling (literally) vamp whom Bella can’t help but be drawn to. And we don’t blame her: he writes music and runs super-fast! Swoon! Then there’s Jacob, the warm (again, literally) childhood friend who not only has a six-pack to rival Ryan Reynolds’, but is just so comfortable to be around. Any girl faced with the same decision would have to take a moment (or two or three) to consider her options.
